Acts 1-2:     Acts 5-7:

All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.  – Acts 4:32 (NIV)

Now at this time, as the disciples were increasing in number, a complaint (murmuring – [KJV], grumbling – [LSB]) developed… – Acts 6:1 (NASB)

First time believers are called

With growth came

Hebrew widows were from the

(Paul) …If any woman who is a believer has dependent widows, she must assist them and the church must not be burdened, so that it may assist those who are widows indeed. – 1 Timothy 5:16 (NASB95)

Notice: They didn’t start by defining their calling, but by serving where needed
