Faith as a Seed

(Jesus) when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?” – Luke 18:8 (NASB)

Faith begins as a

Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

– Matthew 17:20 (NKJV)

Point: A mustard seed

A seed only becomes effective when it’s

MARK 4 – The Parable of the Sower

Understanding this parable the parables (vv.13-14)

The seed (God’s Word) is by it

(Jesus) Listen! A sower went out to sow. – Mark 4:3 (NKJV)

The sower sows the word. – Mark 4:14 (NKJV

The seed is the word of God – Luke 8:11 (NIV)

…faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word (rhema) of God. – Romans 10:17 (NKJV)

Word: rhema – that which is or has been uttered by the living voice, thing spoken, word (OTESD)

The way to have the spirit of faith is to what

We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak; – 2 Corinthians

 God said day and night

This book of the law (the word) shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate (hagah) on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success – Joshua 1:8 (NASB)

Meditate: hagah – to roar, speak, mutter, meditate (BD&B) talk (Strong’s)

Jesus makes it personal (Mark 4:26-29)

He also said, “The kingdom of God is like… (v.26) (NIV)

Knowing it works isn’t as important as knowing that works

How, he himself does not know (v.27) (NASB)

(God) I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the Lord; and I will heal him. – Isaiah 57:19 (KJV)

There is more to reaping a harvest than just sowing but nothing happens until the seed is sown

 Here is how it works:

He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”  6So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” – Hebrews 13:5-6 (NKJV)

The Angel of The Lord encamps around those who fear Him and Protects them (I have more faith in Gods’ protection than the Devil’s ability) – Psalm 34:7

Continue stedfastly in prayer, watching therein with thanksgiving; – Colossians 4:2 (ERV)
