A Day in the Life and Ministry 101

Their Goal:

…the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the leaders among the people were trying to kill him. – Luke 19:47 (NIV)

The crowd viewed this group as the

…the chief priests and the scribes with the elders – Luke 20:1 (NASU)

 Tactic 1: Begin to question Jesus’ (v.2)

Jesus Responds: “Here’s what the ” (vv.9-18)

Tactic 2: They try to appear to be

So they watched Him closely and sent spies (egkathetos) who pretended to be sincere. They were hoping to catch Him in His words in order to hand Him over to the rule and authority of the governor. – Luke 20:20 (BSB)

Spies: egkathetos – set in ambush, lying in wait (CWSBD)

Tactic 3: Begin looking for something to Jesus’ Ministry (v.20)

Tactic 4: They question to the (vv.21-22)

Caesar’s image is only on the

God’s is on

God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. – Genesis 1:27 (NASB)

As Believers we have a

…fear God, honor the king. – 1 Peter 2:17 (NASB)

Do I render to God what ? (v.21)

Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. – Romans 13:1 (NIV)

Jesus’ Mission Statement (and ours):  

… “for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” – Luke 19:10 (NASB)

Tactic Five: Later they greatly the

We found this Man misleading our nation and forbidding us to pay taxes to Caesar…  – Luke 23:2 (NASB)

Heaven is  after all (vv.27-38)

God said I the God of Abraham not I

And He said, “I am the God of your father—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Then Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God. – Exodus 3:6 (NASB)

(vv.41-44)

 The LORD (Yahweh) says to my (David) Lord (Adoni): “Sit at My right hand   Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.” – Psalm 110:1 (NASB)

1. David’s Son (descendant) is David’s

2. David called Him Lord, realizing His Divinity

The Christ (v.41) / Messiah will be fully and fully

Luke 21:1-4

Her giving revealed what she really believed about:       

  1. God’s
  2. Who was really of her life
  3. Who she was and  and apparently wants to too
