Luke 4:17-21 compared with Isaiah 61:1-2
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, Because the LORD has anointed me To bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to captives And freedom to prisoners; To proclaim the favorable year of the LORD And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, – Isaiah 61:1-2 (NASB)
1st Seal: The White Horse – (v.2)
“I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, you will receive him. – John 5:43 (NASB)
Bow is a symbol of a (Genesis 9:13)
And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken… – Daniel 8:25 (KJV)
This king will make a seven-year treaty with the people, but after half that time, he will break his pledge and stop the Jews from all their sacrifices and their offerings; then, as a climax to all his terrible deeds, the Enemy shall utterly defile the sanctuary of God. But in God’s time and plan, his judgment will be poured out upon this Evil One.” – Daniel 9:27 (TLB)
2nd Seal: Red Horse – (vv.3-4)
3rd Seal: Black Horse – (vv.5-6)
Oil and wine; equivalent, in our culture, to toiletries, beauty aids and Luxuries. This is more than famine alone. It describes global rationing and controls. The Coming World Leader will control the economy. (Missler)
He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. – Revelation 13:16-17 (NKJV)
4th Seal: Pale Horse – (chloros) (vv.7-8)
pale/ashen – chloros, greenish; i.e., green, pale (Strong’s)
So I looked and here came a pale green horse! The name of the one who rode it was Death, and Hades (hell KJV) followed right behind. – Revelation 6:8 (NET)
5th Seal: (vv. 9-11)
And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. – Revelation 20:4 (NASB 1995)
6th Seal: Day of (vv.12-17)
