Jesus us to (v.4)
A major theme of the last days is (vv.4-5)

But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times (the last times [DRB]) some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons – 1 Timothy 4:1 (NASB95)

For nation (ethnos) shall rise against nation (ethnos), and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines (limoi), and pestilences (loimoi), and earthquakes (seismos), in divers places. – Matthew 24:7 (KJV)
Pestilences: loimoi – plague (literally, the disease) (Strong’s)
(vv.5-8)
These things are not the sign of the end but will increase exponentially as we get closer to the end of the age
What is the sign of His coming and the end of the age?
…and you will come up against My people Israel like a cloud to cover the land. It will come about in the last days that I shall bring you against My land – Ezekiel 38:16 (NASB77)
Then it will happen on that day that the Lord Will again recover the second time with His hand the remnant of His people (Israel), who will remain, from Assyria, Egypt, Pathros, Cush, Elam, Shinar (Iraq), Hamath, and from the islands of the sea (continents) And He will lift up a standard for the nations, and will assemble the banished ones of Israel, and will gather the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. – Isaiah 11:11-12 (NASB77)
Now learn the parable from the fig tree (Hosea 9:10): when its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near; so, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door. – Matthew 24:32-33 (NASB95)
The Sign of His Coming: Israel becomes a again

The hope in the birth pains is (vv.40-42)

Just Like the Days of Noah (Genesis 6)
As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. – Matthew 24:37 (NIV)

Violence: חָמַס ḥâmas – a primitive root; to be violent (OTESD)
You must understand this: In the last days there will be violent (chalepos) periods of time. – 2 Timothy 3:1-2 (GWT)
Violent: chalepos – violent, fierce, difficult, grievous (CWSB)
