The multitude was at the right and the right

They were (v.36)

They took palm branches and went out to meet Him, shouting, “Hosanna!” “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Blessed is the king of Israel!” – John 12:13 (NIV)

– John 6:15 (NASB95)

The How: From Zechariah (about 500 BC)

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout in triumph, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; He is just and endowed with salvation, Humble, and mounted on a donkey, Even on a colt, the foal of a donkey. – Zechariah 9:9 (NASB95) (The East Gate Ezekiel 44:1-2)

Their King will bring

(v.38) The people are calling Jesus

…the stone which the builders rejected has become the chief corner stone. …This is the day which the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. O Lord, do save, (hosanna) we beseech you… Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord…  – Psalms 118:22-26 (NASB95)

The When: From Daniel 9 (mid 500’s BC)

Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the command to restore and build Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince, there shall be seven weeks () and sixty-two weeks (); the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublesome times. And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off (put to death [NIV]), but not for Himself; and the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city () and the sanctuary (). The end of it shall be with a flood, and till the end of the war desolations are determined. – Daniel 9:25-26 (NKJV) ()

The Last Generation:

Israel will become a (1948)

“…you will come up against My people Israel like a cloud to cover the land. It shall come about in the last days that I will bring you against My land…” – Ezekiel 38:16 (NASB)

(Isaiah 11:11-12, Ezekiel 36:16-24 & 38:16, Matthew 24:32-39)

The Condition of the World:

You must understand this: In the last days there will be violent periods of time. People will be selfish and love money. They will brag, be arrogant, and use abusive language. They will curse their parents, show no gratitude, have no respect for what is holy, and lack normal affection for their families. They will refuse to make peace with anyone. They will be slanderous, lack self-control, be brutal, and have no love for what is good. They will be traitors. They will be reckless and conceited. They will love pleasure rather than God.  They will appear to have a godly life, but they will not let its power change them. Stay away from such people. – 2 Timothy 3:1-5 (GWT)

Inside the Church:

Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.” For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water… – 2 Peter 3:3-5 (NASB95)

Blessed are those servants, whom the Lord when He cometh shall find watching… – Luke 12:37 (ASV)
