August 29, 2021 / Genesis 9:1-18

The Noahic Covenant:

God’s Covenant to (vv.8-9)

God’s Covenant begins with (v.1)

God tells us that is a to be enjoyed (vv. 2-3)

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth…” – Genesis 1:26&28 (NKJV)

After the Resurrection: Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat – John 21:5 (KJV)

For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one’s life. Therefore I say to the Israelites, “None of you may eat blood, nor may an alien living among you eat blood.” – Leviticus 17:11-12 (NIV)

A righteous man has regard for the life of his animal, – Proverbs 12:10 (NASB95)

In this Everlasting Covenant God mandates for murder (vv.5-6)

And murder is forbidden. Man-killing animals must die, and any man who murders shall be killed; for to kill a man is to kill one made like God.  – Genesis 9:5-6 (TLB)











For You (God) formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. – Psalms 139:13 (NASU)

Mary goes to see Elizabeth who is six months pregnant

When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb; …”For behold, when the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby leaped in my womb for joy. – Luke 1:41-44 (NASU)

Murder is different than Involuntary Manslaughter

Anyone who strikes a man and kills him shall surely be put to death. However, if he does not do it intentionally, but God lets it happen, he is to flee to a place I will designate. In this Everlasting Covenant God tells us to:

“As for you, be fruitful and multiply; Populate the earth abundantly a and multiply in it.” (NASB) (v.7) (also v.1)

You were united to your wife by the Lord. In God’s wise plan, when you married, the two of you became one person in his sight. And what does he want? Godly children from your union. Therefore, guard your passions! Keep faith with the wife of your youth.  – Malachi 2:15 (TLB)
