For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. – Romans 1:20 (NASU)

For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. – Exodus 20:11 (NIV)









Jesus saw the accounts of Genesis 1 & Genesis 2 as

And He answered and said, “Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning (Genesis 1:27) MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE and said (Genesis 2:24), ‘FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH’?

God rested because He was not (v.2)

By the seventh (shebiy-iy) day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested (shabath) on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. (v.2) (NASB)

Jesus said to them, “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I, too, am working.” – John 5:17 (NIV)

Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. – Colossians 2:16 (NIV)

A Preview of the Future:

Now no shrub of the field (siyach sadeh) () was yet in the earth, and no plant of the field (eseb sadeh) () had yet sprouted, for the Lord God had not sent rain upon the earth, and there was no man to cultivate the ground. (v.5) (NASB95)

(After the Fall) Both thorns and thistles it shall grow for you; And you will eat the plants of the field (eseb sadeh)

Lord God (Yahweh Elohiym) will be emphasized

(vv. 4, 4, 7, 8, 9, 15, 16, 18, 19, 21, 22)

Adam was in the image of God but his body was out of what was created (v.7)

Then the LORD God formed man (adam) of dust from the ground (adamaah), and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. (v.7) (NASB95)

(v.8) Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east – Genesis 2:8 (NIV)

(vv.10-14)

… the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: – 2 Peter 3:6 (ASV)

(v.15)

Placed in the Garden for over vocation

(later) By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food – Gen 3:19 (NIV)

God has a specific for Adam (v.15)

Adam was created with and

…in the day of thine eating of it — dying thou dost die.’ – Genesis 2:17 (YLT)

The first one to recognize Man’s need is (v.18)

And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone (bad); I will make him an help meet for him.

– Genesis 2:18 (KJV)

Help: `ezer – aid: to surround, i.e., protect

Meet: neged – specifically a counterpart, or mate

(Jesus) your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. – Matthew 6:8 (NASU)

God used Adam’s own body to create Eve to forever remind him of their (v.23)

…he took one of the man’s ribs (tsela) (v.21) (NIV)

For the other side (tsela)…of the tabernacle – Exodus 26:20 (NIV)

In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

– Ephesians 5:28-30 (NIV)
