          And Decisions become

Where there is no vision, the people perish – Proverbs 29:18 (KJV)

Background to Nehemiah’s Story

586 BC – Jerusalem destroyed God’s People deported to Babylon (Modern day )

539 BC – Babylonians get taken over by Persians ()

537 BC – First group of Jews allowed to return to Israel

516 BC – The Temple was rebuilt

458 BC – Ezra leads a group back to Jerusalem

445 BC – Nehemiah asks permission to return to Jerusalem to rebuild the city walls

 

Nehemiah is the to the king (v.11)
