My spirit is

My mind has to be

…to be made new in the attitude of your minds (nous) (v.23) (NIV)

Being renewed is a

…do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed (metamorphoo) by the renewing of your mind (nous), so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect – Romans 12:2 (NASU)

God’s Word

…to make her holy (hagiazo), cleansing her by the washing with water through the word – Ephesians 5:26 (NIV)

Sanctify: hagiazo – to make holy (Strong’s)

God’s Word

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God – Romans 10:17 (KJV)

Let us hold fast the profession (homologia) of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised)

Practically putting on the New Self (vv.25-32)

truth in (v.25)

…speaking the truth in love, – Ephesians 4:15 (NIV)

Therefore each of you must put off falsehood (pseudos) and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body – Ephesians 4:25 (NIV)

Be angry without (vv.26-27)

In your anger do not sin; – Psalms 4:4 (NIV)

anger gives a to the Devil (v.27)

Give place (KJV), a foothold (NLT), opportunity (NASU)

Our purpose for is to (v.28)

The one who steals (klepto) must no longer steal (klepto) (v.28)

…let them say continually, “The Lord be magnified, Who delights in the prosperity of His servant.”

(Jesus) It is more blessed to give than to receive – Acts 20:35 (NASB)

You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God – 2 Corinthians 9:11 (NIV)

Speak words that (v.29)

Do not let any unwholesome (sapros) talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building (oikodome) others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen – Ephesians 4:29 (NIV)

Unwholesome: sapros – rotten, putrefied, corrupted, and no longer fit for use – (Strong’s)

Building: oikodome – (the act of) building, building up (Thayer’s)

…encourage one another and build (oikodomeo) one another up, just as you are doing

– 1 Thessalonians 5:11 (ESV)

See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no “root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled – Hebrews 12:15 (ESV)













If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness
