The Waves of Wrath in The Tribulation:

First Wave (Chapter 6) is (War, Famine & Death)

Second Wave (Chapter 8) is

The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star (aster), blazing like a torch, fell from the sky…

– Revelation 8:10-11 (NIV)

Third Wave (Chapter 9) is

The Punchline: …and they did not repent of their murders nor of their sorceries (pharmakeia) nor of their immorality (porneia) nor of their thefts. (v.21) (NASB95)

The Conclusion in Revelation 19:  After this I heard what seemed to be the loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, crying out, “Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God, for his judgments are true and just;  – Revelation 19:1-2 (ESV)









The 5th Trumpet and The 1st Woe (vv.1-11)

(v.1) Star had already

“How you have fallen from heaven, O star of the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, You who have weakened the nations! “But you said in your heart ‘I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, And I will sit on the mount of assembly In the recesses of the north. ‘I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High. “Nevertheless you will be thrust down to Sheol, To the recesses of the pit. – Isaiah 14:12-15 (NASB95)









Bottomless Pit: Abussos

Seeing Jesus, he cried out and fell before Him, and said in a loud voice, “What business do we have with each other, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me.” – Luke 8:28 (NASB95)

Have You come here to torment us before the time?” – Matthew 8:29 (NASB)

And they begged Him that He would not command them to go out into the abyss (abussos).

– Luke 8:31 (NKJV)









Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding the key of the abyss (abussos) and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; and he threw him into the abyss, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he would not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed; after these things he must be released for a short time. – Revelation 20:1-3 (NASB95)

These have a King whose name is (v.11)

The locusts have no king, Yet all of them go out in ranks; – Proverbs 30:27 (NASB)

The locusts represent something

They were allowed to torment them for five months, but not to kill them, – Revelation 9:5 (ESV)

(v.12) The first woe is past; behold, two woes are still coming after these things. – Revelation 9:12 (NASB)

6th Trumpet and The 2nd Woe (vv.13-21)

Released are four angels who were (v.14)

And angels who did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode, He has kept in eternal bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day, – Jude 6 (NASB95)

A second and army

And the four angels who had been kept ready for this very hour and day and month and year were released to kill a third of mankind. – Revelation 9:15-16 (NIV)
